The 2004 NCAA Women's Gymnastics season promises to be once again an exciting race to the finish.  Defending Team Champion UCLA is the host for the 2004 Finals, giving them a built-in edge in defending their title.  Perhaps acknowledging this fact, the Coaches' have voted UCLA the Pre-Season #1 pick.  UCLA's task will not be easy, as any number of teams contending for a spot in the Super Six have a shot at the title.  The race for Nationals will once again be tight.  Last season, no less than FIVE teams finished within 0.05 of a point of qualifying for Nationals.  Once again, the final slots at Nationals will be determined by the very last routines being competed on a Saturday night in April.

So without further ado, here is a brief look at the Top 25, as determined by the Coaches' PreSeason Poll.

Teams Ranked 1 through 6 (Posted January 2nd, 2004)

Teams Ranked 7 through 12 (Posted January 4th, 2004)

Teams Ranked 13 to 18 (Posted January 7th, 2004)

Information in these reports include information from the team web sites, media guides, fan and booster club websites, message board posts and tapes from last season.  Thank you for all those who provided input and have shared their team's progress.
