FAQ: Recruitables Database

Q:  Is this affiliated with the NCAA?
A:  No.

Q:  Will this help me get recruited?
A:  No.  It is intended to identify and highlight incoming recruits for fans and other followers of the sport.  Use of the database by college recruiters is purely incidental but may occur.

Q:  How long will it take for my profile to be approved?  Why is approval necessary?
A:  It will take between 1 hour and 48 hours, in general, except during holiday periods.  Approval is necessary to protect the database against SPAM advertisements, false entries, inappropriate content and security attacks.

Q:  How can I get my commit status updated?
A:  Use the "Contact Form" for the site or send an email or FAX with the appropriate information.

Q:  I did not submit an entry.  How did an entry get added?
A:  The administrators will create an entry based on results from major meets, club profiles and personal recruiting sites.  Also, club coaches and other clubmate's parents will often submit names.

Q:  How do I claim an existing entry in the database?
A:  See the instructions on "claiming an entry" in the instructions.

Q:  I've created a recruitables database entry before registering with the site.  Now I can't edit the entry.  How do I get the ability to edit it?
A:  See the instructions on "claiming an entry" in the instructions.

Q:  I want to update the information in my profile but I don't want to register a user account.  How can I do this?
A:  See the instructions on "updating an entry" in the instructions.

Q:  How can I suipress the display of "related videos" after my featured YouTube.com video is shown?
A:  In the link field, put http://www.youtube.com/v/VIDEOID&rel=0   where VIDEOID is the combination of letters and numbers that YouTube.com uses to uniquely identify each video.  This is normally right after the words "watch?v=" in the standard YouTube.com link.
