Miles Named Winner of Honda Award for Gymnastics - Greg @ 8:40 pm PST
Bama's Ashley Miles has been named the winner of the Honda Award for Gymnastics. Each of the 12 winners from each sport are now eligible for the Honda-Broderick Cup. Link: Alabama Release

Wong to SEMO - Greg @ 8:34 pm PST
Bryanna Wong has signed with SEMO, according to a release. Wong is a L10 who trains at Edge in Missouri. She was a 2005 L10 Nationals qualifier. Link: SEMO Release

Arthur Ashe Foundation Names Sports Scholar Awards - Greg @ 2:34 pm PST
The Arthur Ashe Foundation has named its Sports Scholar Awards for 2006, recognizing diversity, athletic achievement, community involvement and academic achievement. Only Women's Gymnastics is honored by the Foundation, along with other Men's and Women's sports. Link: 2006 Women's Team

Darone to Air Force - Greg @ 2:30 pm PST
Emily Darone has accepted an appointment to the Air Force Academy and will compete for their gymnastics squad. Darone is a L10 at Diamond in Delaware. Link: Club Web Site

Washington's Bob Levesque announced his retirement after 16 seasons at Washington. A search for a replacement will begin immediately, according to a release. Link: UW Release

Byich to Pitt - Greg @ 7:50 am PST
Jessica Byich has signed with Pitt, according to the Tribune-Democrat newspaper. Byich is a L10 who trains at Gym Dandy's. She placed 11th AA and 6th on UB at the 2006 Region VII L10 Regionals. Link: Article

WVU Signs Tabor - Greg @ 7:41 am PST
Chelsi Tabor has signed with West Virginia, according to the Charleston Gazette newspaper. Tabor is a L10 from Maverick Gymnastics in West Virginia, where she swept the state L10 championships. She placed 5th on BB and 7th AA at the 2006 Region VII L10 Regionals.

Michigan State Signs Robinson - Greg @ 7:35 am PST
MSU has signed Rochelle Robinson in the Spring signing period. Robinson is a L10 with the Ocean Tumblers in Virginia. She placed 5th AA, 5th on VT and 4th on UB at the 2006 Region VII L10 Regionals, Sr.C. In 2004, she tied for 1st on VT at the L10 Nationals. She also tied for 9th on FX en route to a 16th place AA finish. Link: MSU Release

Shepherd to Temple - Greg @ 10:53 pm PST
Tiffany Shepherd has committed to Temple, according to a site submission. Shepherd is a L10 who currently trains at Lehigh Valley. She placed 15th AA at the 2006 Region VII L10 Regionals and was a L10 Nationals qualifier in 2003.

Maryland Signs George - Greg @ 7:46 am PST
Maryland has officially added Brandi George to its 2006-2007 recruiting class. George is a L10 from Orlando Metro who is returning from an injury in 2005. At the recent 2006 Region VIII L10 Regionals, she placed 2nd AA, 2nd on BB and 3rd on FX. In 2004, at the L10 Nationals, she was 4th (t) AA, 1st on BB, 6th (t) on FX and 8th (t) on VT.Link: UMD Release
