2008-2009: Kearns to CSUF

Taylor Kearns reportedly committed to Fullerton earlier this spring. She's a L10 who also trains at SCEGA. She tied for 15th and won the BB title at the 2007 Region I L10 Regionals, Sr. A. In 2006, she placed 35th AA and 6th on UB at the L10 Nationals, in the Junior C group.
2008-2009: Phillips to Maryland

Kyra Phillips reportedly committed to Maryland earlier this spring. Phillips is a L10 who trains at SCEGA. She placed 19th AA at the 2007 Region I L10 Regionals as a Senior A. She was also 25th AA at the 2006 L10 Nationals, as a Junior C.
2008-2009: Kazandjian to Boise State

Lindsay Kazandjian has reportedly committed to Boise State, according to a site submission. Kazandjian is a L10 who trains at GymCats. She competed two events at the 2007 Region I L10 Regionals. In 2006, she placed 10th AA as a Junior C at the Region I L10 Regionals.
2008-2009: Dahlquist to Boise State

Cristy Dahlquist has reportedly committed to Boise State, according to a board post. Dahlquist is a L10 who trains at Gym World East in Arizona. 2007-2008: Cotter to Alaska

Amanda Cotter will compete for Alaska next season, according to Journal Sentinel newspaper. In 2007, Cotter placed 2nd AA at the Wisconsin High School Division I state meet. She trained before high school as a L10 at Saltos, competing at the L10 Nationals in 2002. Link: JS Online Article

Lashlee Morris has signed with Illinois, according to her club web site. Morris is a L10 at Brandy Johnson's Global Gymnastics in Florida. Morris finished 19th AA at the 2007 L10 Nationals in the Senior D group. In 2006, she tied for 30th AA and 7th on BB at the L10 Nationals, competing as a Senior B. Link: Club Web Site

Samantha Ursch has signed with Central Michigan, according to the Illinois USAG web page. Ursch is a L10 who trains at World Class. She finished in 25th AA at the 2007 L10 Nationals in the Sr. D division. She placed 18th AA at the 2006 Region V L10 Regionals.
2007-2008: Mitchell to Kentucky

Andrea Mitchell will graduate early and head to Kentucky in January 2008, according to a site submission. Mitchell is a L10 who trains at Premier North in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 2007, she placed 3rd AA, and tied for 5th on BB, 6th on FX and 8th on VT at the L10 Nationals, Senior B. In 2005, she placed 8th AA and tied for 5th on VT at the L10 Nationals in the Junior C group.
Denver Hires Savage

Grant Waldron is headed to the Naval Academy for 2007-2008, according a newspaper article. Waldron, who trains at Top Flight, overcame two stress fractures to gain acceptance. He placed 48th AA in the preliminaries of the 2007 JO Nationals. Link: The View Newspaper

2008-2009: Ellis to Florida

Nicole Ellis has committed to Florida for 2008-2009, according to her club website. She's a L10 at Arena in Illinois. She tied for 5th AA at the 2007 L10 Nationals in the Senior A group. She also placed 2nd on VT, 3rd(t) on UB and 6th(t) on BB. In 2006, she placed 6th AA, 2nd on VT, and 3rd(t) on UB at the L10 Nationals in the Jr. C group. 2008-2009: Nuccio Confirmed to UGA

Gina Nuccio is now confirmed as committing to UGA for 2008-2009, according to her club. Nuccio is the reigning 2007 L10 National Champion at the Senior B level in the AA, UB and VT(t). The Arena (IL) trained Nuccio also tied for 2nd on FX and 3rd on BB at this year's National meet. 2008-2009: Jones Confirmed to Ohio State

Taylor Jones has committed to Ohio State, as confirmed by her club, Dynamo. She tied for 31st AA at the 2007 L10 Nationals, in the Senior A group, after capturing the Region III AA title. In 2005, she tied for 27th AA and 5th on BB at the L10 Nationals, Jr. C division. Link: Video at Club Web Site
2007-2008: Rutgers to Welcome Eight

Rutgers will welcome eight frosh for 2007-2008, according to a school release. The commits of Leigh Heinbaugh and Maddie Zweibel were covered in previous news items. In addition to that pair, the Scarlet Knights will welcome Kiah Banfield, Erica (Sunny) Gerlach, Ellese Gold, Nicole Rose, Brooke Schwamburger, and Sara Woodward. Banfield is a L10 from Cali Gymnastics who trained from 2003-2006 in New Jersey. She placed 22nd AA at the 2006 Region I Level 9 Regionals. Gerlach is a L10 who trains at Cahoy's Gymnastics in Nebraska. She's a Regional qualifier at both Level 9 and Level 10. Gold is a L10 from Champion in Colorado. She placed 18th AA at the 2006 Region III L10 Regionals. As a L9 in 2005, she placed 12th AA at Regionals. Rose is a in-state product who trained L10 at TNT. She placed 9th AA and 5th on VT at the 2006 Region VII L10 Regionals. In 2005, she was 18th AA and 4th on FX at the Region VII L10 Reigonals. Schwamburger is a L10 from Gym X-Treme in Ohio. She placed 8th AA at the 2007 Ohio State L10 Championships. She missed the 2006 season due to a recovery from Grave's disease. Woodward is a L9 who trained at Gym Force in Florida. 2008-2009: Nguyen Reportedly Commits to Stanford

Catherine Nguyen has reportedly committed to Stanford. She's in her first year as a senior international elite and is a 2007 National Team member who trains at WOGA. Last year, she placed 8th AA and 9th on the UB in the junior division of the VISA (US) Championships. She was 21st AA in the junior division in 2005. Link: BB Video on YouTube

Ruby Engreitz has reportedly committed to Washington for 2008-2009. Engreitz is a L10 who trains at the Leading Edge Gymnastics Academy. She placed 8th AA at the 2007 L10 Nationals, Senior A, including a tie for 5th on FX and 7th on UB. In 2006, she captured Regional titles in the AA, VT, BB and FX while tying for 39th AA at Nationals.
2008-2009: Stone to OU

Sara Stone has reportedly committed to Oklahoma. She's a former junior international elite and L10 who trains at Metroplex. She placed 14th AA at the 2006 L10 Nationals in the Junior D division. Kristen Linton has committed to walk-on at the University of Washington for 2007-2008. Linton is a four-time L10 Nationals qualifier who trains at Seattle Gymnastics Academy. 2007-2008: Two More Intend to Compete for Sac State

Two more gymnasts intend to compete for Sac State next season, Megan Lueders and Amanda Blauvelt. Lueders is a L10 Regional Qualifier who trains at Hawaiian Island Twisters. According to her club web site, she has been accepted for admission at Sac State and plans to compete for them. Blauvelt is a L10 who trains at Will-Moor in New Jersey. She recently tied for 30th AA at the 2007 L10 Nationals in the Senior C division. In 2006, she placed 20th AA at Regionals. There is more information on her, including video, at her club website.

Foody to Join UCLA Coaching Staff

Jim Foody has been named an assistant at UCLA, according to a school release. He replaces Marshall Nelson, who will remain a volunteer coach while he pursues opportunities as a performance artist. Foody is head coach at JAG in nearby Culver City. Link: UCLA Release
