UC Davis Signs Three

UC Davis has signed Betsy Lim, Jennifer Mueller and Erika Van Dyke. Mueller and Van Dyke's commitment was covered in a previous news item. Lim is a L10 at Midwest Gymnastics Center in Minnesota, where she finished third on FX at the L10 State meet. As a L9 in 2006, she was 17th AA and tied for 4th on VT at the Region IV Regionals.

Roach to WVU

Nicole Roach has signed with WVU, according to the Hometownlife network of newspapers. Roach trains as a L10 at the Sports Club of Novi. In 2006, she placed 17th AA at the Region V L10 Regionals. Link: Article

NCSU Signs Four

NC State has signed Brooke Barr, Anna Kronenfield, Jessica Panza, and Rebecca Teich. The commits of Panza and Teich were covered in prior news items.
Barr is a L10 at Artistic Gymnastics. In 2007, she placed 7th AA, 3rd on FX and 4th on VT at the PA L10 State meet. She was also 16th AA at the 2006 Region VII L10 Regionals.
Kronenfield trains as a L10 at High Point Gymnastics. At the 2007 Region VIII L10 Regionals, she placed 10th AA and 4th on the BB.

URI Signs Three

Rhode Island has announced the signing of Stephanie Kuska, Genny Salvatore (who trains at Lawrence, not KGDC) and Alexandra Woods. The commits of Salvatore and Woods were covered in previous news items.
Kuska is a L10 who trains at Sylvia's. In 2007, she placed 8th AA and 4th on VT at the PA Level 10 State meet. Link: URI Release

Cal (W) Signs Johnson and Varon

Cal has signed Shana Johnson and Erica Varon, according to a school release.
Johnson trains as a L10 at Novato Gymnastics Club. This past season, despite an injury, she placed 13th AA at the 2007 Region I L10 Regionals. She also finished 2nd on VT(t) and FX at the 2005 Level 9 Western Nationals.
Varon is a L10 who trains at JAG. She placed 26th AA at the 2007 L10 Nationals, Sr. B. In 2006, she placed 9th AA at the Region I L10 Regionals as a Junior D.

EMU Signs Three

Eastern Michigan has announced the signing of Amanda Fuller, Stacie Wood and Kristen Yourick. The signing of Fuller was highlighted in a prior news item.
Wood is a Canadian National Open athlete and a teammate of Fuller at Burlington. This past season, she tied for 12th AA and placed 5th on FX at the 2007 Canadian Championships, National Open 16+. She was 9th AA in 2006, with a 7th place tie on FX.
Yourick is a L10 at Albuquerque Gymnastics. She placed 11th AA at the 2007 Region III L10 Regionals in the Senior B group. She was also 18th AA in 2006 as a L9 at Regionals. Link: EMU Release
UNC Signs Three

As expected, UNC has signed Taylor Brown, Morgan Evans and Zoya Johnson. Each commit was covered at this site earlier in the year. Link: UNC Release

2009-2010: Ritter to Ohio State

Lauren Ritter has made an early commitment to Ohio State, according to her club. Ritter is a L10 at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. She placed 11th AA, 2nd on BB and tied for 9th on both VT and FX at the 2007 L10 Nationals, Junior D. The prior season, she placed 13th AA at the L10 Nationals as a Junior C, including a 4th place finish on FX. Link: Ritter's Recruiting Video on YouTube.com
Nov. 30, 2007 update
2010: Blalock to Oregon State

Kelsi Blalock has made an early commitment to Oregon State, according to her club. The high school junior has committed to a scholarship offer for the 2009-2010 season. A L10 at Gymnastics East, she placed 2nd AA, 4th (t) on UB and 7th(t) on VT at the 2007 L10 Nationals, Junior D. The prior year, at the 2006 L10 Nationals, she tied for 18th AA and took 2nd on UB. She also finished 26th AA at the 2005 L10 Nationals. Link: Gym East Announcement
