UCLA won its sixth NCAA National Championship in Women's Gymnastics Friday night, defeating a tightly packed field. The Bruins posted a 197.725, pulling away from the field on FX in the last round with a season-high 49.55. OU was second at 197.25, edging Bama at 197.25, Stanford at 197.1 and Florida at 197. UCLA's Vanessa Zamarripa and Anna Li posted the top two AA scores of the night to lead the Bruins.

Bama won Session 2 of the 2010 Women's NCAAs Preliminaries with a 196.85. Florida was a close 2nd with a 196.775. Stanford grabbed the third spot with a 196.3. Casey Jo Magee of Arkansas was the top AAer in the evening session, posting a 39.55.

UCLA won the first session of the NCAA Women's Team Preliminaries with a 196.875 (unofficial results based on quick hits). Utah was just behind at 196.625, followed closely by OU at 196.55. LSU's Susan Jackson won the AA in this session with a 39.625. PSU frosh Sharaya Musser was 2nd with a 39.45, just ahead of Utah's Daria Bijak and UCLA's Vanessa Zamarripa at 39.425.

UCLA and Arkansas advanced easily out of the Los Angeles Regional. UCLA posted a nation-high 197.825 to defeat Arkansas' 196.675. Anna Li led UCLA, posting a 10.0 on UB and winning VT. Teammate Vanessa Zamarripa edged her for the AA title with a 39.675. Teammate Brittani McCullough won the FX. For Arkansas, Casey Jo Magee won the BB.
Advancing as AAers are Iowa State's Michelle Browning and ASU's Mary Atkinson.

Florida posted a big 197.675 to defeat host Utah. Utah posted a 196.9. Ashanee Dickerson led Florida, posting a 39.7 for the AA win. She dominated throughout. Dickerson also won the BB and tied for the UB with teammates Maranda Smith and Amanda Castillo, and Utah's Daria Bijak. Dickerson also tied for 1st on FX with a host of others.
Boise State's Hannah Redmon won the VT with a near perfect 9.975, advancing to Nationals on that event. She also tied for first on FX, where she tied with Utah's Annie DiLuzio, Auburn's Rachel Inniss, and Washington's Kristen Linton and Samantha Walior. It has not been determined if these other FX co-champs advance.
Two other DU athletes advanced as AAers, with Kelley Hennigan taking the first spot and Brianna Artemev winning the tiebreaker for the 2nd slot.
