Minnesota defeated host MSU 193.875 to 193.0, as both squads continued to work through early season struggles. Minnesota came back after another rough start on UB to secure the win. Bailey Holst led the way, tying for the UB and FX titles and taking the AA with a 39.175. Gopher Abby DeMuse returned to the lineups in a big way, winning BB and taking a share of the VT title with teammate Bailey Abernathy and MSU's Nicola Deans. Deans also nabbed a share of the FX title, along with teammate Kira Frederick. MSU's Hailee Westney tied for UB honors.

A crowd of 11,500 saw LSU exercise it's depth and unveil some new sets in an easy 197.475 to 192.625 win over Division II TWU. Senior Ashleigh Gnat won the VT, FX and tied for the BB title with teammate Sarah Finnegan. Finnegan won the UB and the AA (39.3). Frosh Ruby Harrold made her debut, securing her spot in the UB lineup with a 9.875. She also competed FX. Star Myia Hambrick rested in the AA but debuted her Yurchenko 1 1/2 on VT.

EMU exploded to a 195.925 to easily defeat their cross-state hosts CMU's 194.65. The Eagles were paced wins from Kendall Valentin on UB and Lacey Rubin on BB. For CMU, Denelle Pedrick won the VT while Katy Clements and Macey Hilliker tied for the FX title. CMU's Gianna Plaska posted a 39.0 for AA honors.

Ball State knocked off host NC State 194.95 to 194.85 to score a big road win. The Cardinal also dispatched W&M (192.275). They were led by Sydney Finke, who tied for the VT title with NC State's Chelsea Knight. Knight also won the BB. The Wolfpack's Paris Phillips took the FX and won the AA with a 39.0. Teammate Melissa Brooker won the UB, but a counting fall proved too much to overcome for the hosts.

Kentucky broke it's one week old school record with a 197.1 to easily set aside the visitors from Auburn. The Wildcats were again led by frosh Mollie Korth, who posted a 39.45 to win the AA. She also won FX and tied for the UB title with teammate Katie Stuart. Teammate Sidney Dukes took the BB with a 9.95 while Danaea Davis won the VT.

Georgia defeated the visitors from Arkansas 196.225 to 195.025. Sydney Snead led UGA, winning the VT and the AA (39.125). Frosh Rachel Dickson added a win on UB while teammate Gigi Marino led an UGA sweep on FX. For Arkansas, Syndey McGlone won the BB.

Hope Nelson, L10 from World Class in Va., has committed to Alaska. Last season she finished 5th AA at both her state and regionals meets, qualifying to JOs. She recently placed 1st on beam and 3rd AA at the Hill's Maryland Classic.
Taylor Pitchell, L10 at Gymnastics Express Too, has committed to CMU. Last season she competed at Level 9. She was the state and regional vault champion and placed 14th AA at the Eastern Championships. She has competed three L10 meets this season so far, is not competing bars at this time.
OU leads the College Gymnastics Asssociation (CGA) Men's National Rankings for the week of January 16th, as administered by RoadtoNationals. Stanford is 2nd and Illinois is third. The Sooners received all the first place votes (the Men's rankings are based on coaches' votes, not scores).
Emily Speciale, L10 from Aerials Athletics, is headed to SUNY Cortland in the fall. Last season she qualified to regionals and finished 10th AA.
Rachel Schick won UB and BB and Sydney Snead won VT and the AA (39.4) as UGA swept NC State on Monday afternoon. Gym Dog frosh Sabrina Vega won the FX as UGA notched a 196.875 to 194.8 victory.

After a big 198.025 this past week, OU takes over the top spot in the National standings, as compiled by RoadToNationals.com. They are closely followed by LSU, of course, with Florida rising to third. OU leads the nation on UB, BB and FX, while LSU is the top team on VT.
W&M posted strong individual performances at their State Open, with no team scores kept in the competition.

Stanford defeated cross-Bay rival Cal in "The Big Meet" on Sunday afternoon. Stanford was led by Akash Modi, who won PH and PB en route to a 87.15 AA win. Teammates Jordan DeClerk, Josiah Eng, Barrett Weiss, and Robert Neff won FX, Rings, VT and HB, respectively.

OU broke the 198 barrier and downed the visitors from UCLA 198.025 to 196.825 in action Sunday afternoon. Frosh Maggie Nichols led the Sooners once again. She won the AA with a 39.75, won the FX, and tied for the titles on VT and UB. Teammate Chayse Capps tied Nichols on BB and won the BB. OU's Nicole Lehrmann and UCLA's Kyla Ross and Peng-Peng Lee tied for the UB title.

Cal defeated host Iowa 195.55 to 194.4 in the second of their road meets this weekend. Arianna Robinson led the Bears, winning the VT and tying for the FX title with teammate Toni-Ann Williams and Iowa frosh Clair Kaji. Bear teammate Desiree Palomares won the BB. Iowa's Angel Metcalf took the UB.
