Russian was the top qualifier as the Men's Qualification ends in Stuttgart. The US, after a shaky competition, qualified to the 2020 Olympics. They also made the Team Final. Former OU star Yul Moldaeur and former Michigan star Sam Mikulak both made the AA final. Mikulak had a rough day, and appears to have won the tie-breaker for the last spot in finals. He also qualified to the HB final.
Simone Biles qualified to four event finals and placed 1st AA to lead the US to the top spot in qualifying. AU commit Sunisa Lee is 2nd, and qualified on to AA, UB and FX finals. Oregon State commit Jade Carey edged Biles for the top qualifying spot on VT. Bama star Shallon Olsen also qualified to the VT finals for Canada. UCLA commit Brooklyn Moors of Canada is the first reserve on FX, after an inquiry took down her score by 0.1. Utah commit Kara Eaker is the first reserve on BB, after an inquiry took down her start value by 0.4 points, and dropped her out of qualifying.
Towson has hired Ashley Sauer as an assistant. She's coached at Docksiders and Harford, and competed for Maryland (as Ashley LeVine). She's also a former Sport Information Director for the EAGL gymanstics conference.

BGSU has hired Juliana Belar as an assistant. She's served as a student assistant at UNH and was a competitor for them.

Boise State has hired Ivan Alexov as an assistant. He's spent five years as a member of the US National Team staff and is co-owner of Omega Gymnastics in Oregon. He was a three time Bulgarian National Champion.

Chris Muras served as Volunteer Coach at Minnesota and coached at Flips Gymnastics.
At the conclusion of a Selection Camp and Trials meet, the US has selected Simone Biles, Jade Carey (Oregon St signee), Kara Eaker (Utah commit), Sunisa Lee (Auburn commit), Grace McCallum (Utah commit) and MyKayla Skinner (Utah) to the squad. Morgan Hurd (Florida commit) and Leanne Wong have been named as non-travelling alternates.

Scott Sherman has been promoted to Associate Head Coach at Michigan. He's been an assistant to Head Coach Bev Plocki for 23 years.

Stanford's men's squad has hired Mark Freeman as an assisant. He'd been an assistant the last two seasons at Cal, his alma mater. He's a former Great Britain National Team member.

Melissa Genovese has been promoted to Asssociate Head Coach at Sacramento State. She's been an assistant since 2015 and a former standout from 2005-2008.

Mary Fredericks has been named the new Head Coach at Southern Connecticut. Last season, she was the acting Head Coach at Towson. She's also held positions at BYU and SEMO. As Mary Beth Arnold, she was a member of the US National Team, winning team Gold at the 1995 Pan Am Games and a bronze at the 1995 World Championships.

On September 11th, 2001, Mari-Rae Sopper was on her way to California, ready to start her job as Head Coach of the women's team at UC Santa Barbara. Sopper, a former standout at Iowa State, was known as "ISUFan" on the College Gymnastics Board. She had given up her job as a Navy JAG Corp lawyer to pursue her dream, and to help save the program at UCSB. She lost her life during the events of that fateful day as the plane she was on was deliberately crashed into the Pentagon. We pause to remember her spirit and dedication to the sport, and her inspiring effort to pursue her dreams, as well as the others who lost their lives that fateful day.
UNH's new Head Coach Lindsey Bruck Ayotte has announced the hiring of Steve Avgerinos as the Associate Head Coach. He had been serving as the Associate Head Coach at Illinois State. UNH also welcomes Amanda Fillard as a new assistant. The former NC State athlete has been coaching at New Hope.
