Schedule Difficulty for the Top 10 for 2004

Schedule Difficulty Index for Top 10 Teams in the Coaches' PreSeason Poll

by Bill Donaldson

Schedule difficulty index is calculated by awarding 10 points for scheduling the number one team in the pre-season coaches poll, 9 points for the number two team, down to 1 point for the tenth ranked team.  No points are awarded for scheduling teams ranked below 10 in the coaches poll, and no difficulty index is calculated for teams ranked below 10 in the coaches poll.

Florida attained 34 of its 50.5 points for scheduling Georgia (2) and Alabama (3) twice each during the season and 10 points for scheduling UCLA once.
