Other/Injured Returners (5):  Carly Busch (So), Anna Flynn Cashion (So/I), Cadence Gormley (Jr), Ryan Noonan (So), Alyssa Orgen (So/I)

Other Losses (2):  Abby Bednar (So/TR/MSU), Kaila Lawrence (Jr/?)
Newcomers (8):  Talia Cotter (Fr), Isabela Edralin (Fr/I), Callie Gardner (So/TR/Towson), Addisyn Hofseth (Fr), Sabrina Nemcek (Fr), Lily Thaxton (Fr), Ellie Topchistvili (Fr), Gabby Van Frayen (Fr)

Quick Assessment:  Kentucky moves up one spot the #9 spot in the Coaches' Preseason Poll, despite losing some 13 routines from last season.  They have lost a total six gymnasts to graduation but gain no less than eight newcomers.  Gone from last season are some top performers in Hailey Davis, Skylar Killough-Wilhelm, Isabella Magnelli, Jillian Procasky, Annie Riegart and Makenzie Wilson.  Killough-Wilhelm was a top All-Arounder, having earlier earned second team All-American honors in the AA and first team honors on UB in 2024 (when she was at Washington).  Magnelli was a seven-time All-American (3x NCAA, 4x regular season) who excelled on BB but who also contributed top marks on up to three events.  Procasky was a former AAer for the Wildcats who earned 2nd team All-American honors at the 2023 NCAA Nationals.  Davis, who was injured just before Regionals, was a key contributor on both UB and FX, and was an individual qualifier to the NCAA on FX in 2022.  Riegart was a regular contributor on UB while Wilson was a first team All-American on VT at the 2023 NCAA Nationals (pike front half).

Kentucky returns six starters, led by Delaynee Rodriguez, and five other returners.  Rodriguez is a consistent and stable AAer for Kentucky and should be the bedrock of the 2026 squad.  Her career high 39.525 AA came at Regionals last season.  Junior Creslyn Brose also returns, having qualified to the NCAAs as an individual on her best event, FX.  Another key returner is junior Cecily Rizo, who has competed on all four events but not yet in the AA.  She's gone 9.9 on both VT and UB.  Junior Sharon Lee also returns as the top beamer, having hit 9.95 at Regionals last season.  Kentucky also looks forward to the return of several gymnasts from injury.  Leading the way is sophomore Anna Flynn Cashion.  She had a strong start to last season, hitting 9.95 on VT (with her pike front 1/2) before being injured, but appears to be recovered.  Junior Cadence Gormley has also been slowed by injuries but her execution and form are very strong.  She has been showing UB and BB during the preseason intrasquads and preview meet.  Sophomore Ryan Noonan also contributed on VT and UB last season and is also training well in preseason.

Kentucky welcomes eight newcomers, including seven frosh:  Talia Cotter, Isabela Edralin, Addisyn Hofseth (3*), Sabrina Nemcek, Lily Thaxton (3*), Ellie Topchistvili, and Gabby Van Frayen (5*).  Van Frayen leads the way.  The former elite placed 1st on BB, 6th(t) on UB and 2nd AA at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She was also 2nd(t) on FX, 3rd on BB and 3rd AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  She has the potential to make an immediate impact on all four events.  Hofseth placed 26th AA at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals and 14th AA at the 2023 WDP L10 Nationals.  Another frosh, Thaxton, is a four-time WDP L10 National qualifier who placed 6th on VT and 28th AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  She did appear at the recent UK public preview on crutches.  Cotter was the Region 6 AA, UB and FX(t) champ in 2025.  Unfortunately for Kentucky, late addition Isabelin Edralin was injured in the preseason.  She's a two-time L10 National qualifier.  Finally, Towson sophomore transfer Callie Gardner competed VT for the Tigers but has also been training well on UB and also exhibition on FX at the Blue and White meet.

Kentucky has some challenges with injuries and losses to graduation as they head into the season.  Fortunately, AAer Rodriguez and fantastic frosh Van Frayen are set to lead the way.  Depth is a concern due to the number of new and prior injuries as they look to replace 13 scores, particularly on the leg events like VT.  They will need some others on the roster to step up while they avoid any further injuries and existing athletes complete their recovery.

 10.  Arkansas Razorbacks

Official Web Site:     Link      Schedule      Roster
Starting Routines Returning: 14/24
Routines Gone:  2 VT, 3 UB, 2 BB, 3 FX
Head Coach: Jordyn Wieber
Assistants: Catelyn Branson, Chris Brooks, Kyla Ross
Finish Last Season:  12th
Returning Starters (6):  Hailey Klein (Jr), Ja'Leigh Lang (So), Priscilla Park (Jr), Joscelyn Roberson (So), Cally Swaney (Sr), Cami Weaver (Sr)
Other/Injured Returners (6):  Grace Drexler (So), Reese Drotar (Sr/I), Frankie Price (RS Sr/I), Leah Smith (Gr), Julianna Weeks (So), Lauren Williams (RS Jr)
Graduated (4):  Kaitlyn Ewald, Kalyxta Gamiao, Maddie Jones, Mati Waligora
Other Losses (3):  Chandler Buntin (Jr/?), Dakota Essenpries (Jr/TR/Missouri), Sadie Smith (So/TR/Arizona)
Newcomers (8):  Addison Bare (Fr), Bradley Burton (Fr/I), Avalon Campbell (Fr/I), Allison Cucci (Fr), Madison Gustitus (So/TR/San Jose State), Riley Jandorf (Fr), Avery King (Fr), Morgan Price (Sr/TR/Fisk)

Quick Assessment:  Arkansas finished 12th in the final rankings last season, but find themselves slotted in 10th in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.  Despite the loss of 10 routines from last season, they GymBacks have a strong set of returners, key athletes returning from injury and a talented set of newcomers.  Gone from 2025 are seven gymnasts, including Dakota Essenpries, Kaitlyn Ewald, Kalyxta Gamiao, Maddie Jones and Mati Waligora.  Of the losses, Jones and Waligora were the most critical.  Jones contributed on up to three events and had some of the squad's top scores on UB and FX.  She made the NCAAs as an individual after tying for the UB title at Regionals.  Waligora, a transfer from Bama, had one of her best seasons ever while competing on three events, hitting 9.925+ on UB/BB and FX.   Essenpries, who transferred to Missouri, was a solid vaulter with a Yurchenko  1 1/2 while graduate transfer Ewald, competed primarily on UB but competed in the past on up to 3 events.

Arkansas welcomes a very strong set of returners, led by sophomore US National Team member Joscelyn Roberson.  Roberson, who recently won a bronze on VT at the World Championships, went 9.9+ on all four events and set the Arkansas frosh AA record at 39.625.  She was a NCAA Championship AA qualifier as an individual, where she won 2nd team All-American honors on the BB.  With another year of experience and NCAA routine refinement under her belt, she will be one of the top athletes in the NCAA.  She'll be supported by a number of returners, including juniors Hailey Klein and Priscilla Park and seniors Cally Swaney and Cami Weaver.  Klein has been looking strong in preseason and has career highs up 9.9+ on VT, BB and FX.  Park competed in the AA as a frosh but competed primarily on BB and UB last season.  Swaney was a regular on UB and BB last season, and has career bests of 9.9+.  Classmate Weaver competed primarily on VT and BB and has career highs of 9.925+ on each event.  Arkansas will also get back the services of Frankie Price, Leah Smith and Lauren Williams, who collectively will make a huge impact on VT and FX.  Williams is coming back from injury strongly and excels on VT (Yurchenko 1 1/2) and FX (full-in) but has also competed on BB.  She has career bests of 9.95 on both power events.  Also coming back strong, Smith can contribute on all four events with highs of 9.9+ on each event.  Although she may be strongest on the leg events, she will also bring experience and scoring potential on UB.  Price injured her Achilles' at the Regionals but was the FX anchor (double layout) before her injury.  Her impact will likely be delayed, due to the extended recovery time for this type of injury on her best events.

The GymBacks welcome a superb incoming class with six frosh and two high impact transfers.  The frosh include Addison Bare (4.5*), Bradley Burton (3*), Avalon Campbell (4*), Allison Cucci (5*), Riley Jandorf and Avery King (3*).  Cucci leads the way, and could make a major impact immediately.  She tied for the BB title in Senior D at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals and placed 2nd in the AA.  She also tied for 3rd on VT and UB at the meet.  In 2024, she won the VT title with a 10 and won the AA at the WDP L10 Nationals.  She also placed 4th on BB and tied for 6th on FX.  Bare is coming off an 8th place AA finish at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She also tied for 6th on VT, 7th on UB and placed 11th AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  Campbell missed most of the 2025 season, due to an ACL injury and subsequent surgery, but is on her way back.  She placed 5th AA, 4th on VT, 6th(t) on FX and 9th(t) on BB at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  She was also 8th AA and 2nd(t) on BB at the 2023 WDP L10 Nationals.  Texan Burton missed the post-season after winning the VT and FX titles at the 2025 TX L10 State meet.  She tied for 4th AA, placed 4th on BB and 6th on UB at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  Her debut will likely be delayed.  Former junior elite King has excellent execution and form.  She placed 3rd in the All-Star session of the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals on UB, an event where she could impact.  She also excels on BB but missed the 2025 season due to injury, but looked to be well on her way back at the recent preview.  Arkansas also landed a couple of prized transfers in Morgan Price and Madison Gustitus.  Price, the sister of Frankie, is looking strong in preseason training.  With a Yurchenko 1 1/2 and strong, consistent sets on the other events she will be challenging the rest of the roster on all the lineups.  Gustitus competed primarily on BB last season, and looked strong at the preview meet.  However, she has the potential to do even more, as she is a former WDP L10 National Team member and a former 5* athlete.

Despite some injuries and athletes in recovery from major injuries, Arkansas has the potential to best their preseason rank and challenge for a spot at Nationals.  As long as they avoid further injury, they will grow in strength throughout the season as the frosh adapt and key athletes return to full strength.

 11.  Auburn Tigers

Returning Starters (8):  Olivia Ahern (So), Sophia Bell (So), Emma Grace Boyd (Jr), Olivia Greaves (Jr), Julianne Huff (Jr), Alex Irvine (Jr), Marissa Neal (So), Paige Zancan (Jr)
Other/Injured Returners (5):  Bryn Bartman (So), Sophia Greaves (Jr), Hannah Haigle (Sr), Katelyn Jong (So/I), Jersie Woosey (Jr)
Graduated (8):   Sophia Groth, Olivia Hollingsworth, Sara Hubbard, Gabby McLaughlin, Sydney Schumacher, Anna Hill, Caroline Leonard, Sarah Zois
Other Losses (0):  N/A
Newcomers (7):  Kaylee Bluffstone (Jr/TR/Florida/I), Charlotte Booth (Fr/I), Adriana Consoli (Fr), Mia Leverton (Fr), Rebekah Smith (Fr), Brynn Torry (Fr), Emma Wehry (Jr/TR/WVU/I),

Quick Assessment:  Auburn enters the season with the #11 rank, matching their finish from last season.  They finished a disappointing 0.1 tenths behind Missouri at the Washington Regional, despite overcoming two critical and disappointing injuries suffered earlier in the season.  They are seeking to replace 10 routines from no less than eight graduated athletes (the COVID years have produced some large classes).  Some top gymnasts have now graduated, including Sophia Groth, Olivia Hollingsworth, Sarah Hubbard, Gabby McLaughlin and Sydney Schumaker.  Groth stepped up last season to be a top performer on three events.  A former second team NCAA nationals All-American on BB, she was also a team captain in 2025.  McLaughlin was an individual qualifier to the NCAA in 2025 on BB, but competed on up to four events during her career.  With career highs of 9.9+ on UB, BB and FX, she will be missed.  Hubbard was a former first team NCAA nationals All-American on VT, where she had a reliable Yurchenko 1 1/2.  Also departed is Schumaker, who had another 10.0 start value vault (tuck 1 1/2 Yurchenko).  Finally, Hollingsworth missed 2025 after an Achilles' injury early in the season.  The former AAer had a 39.5 career high and bests of 9.9+ on each event.

Auburn returns 8 solid core gymnasts for 2026, led by Olivia Ahern Sophia Bell, Olivia Greaves, Marissa Neal and Paige Zancan.  However, they will also anticipate the return to competition of Katelyn Jong.  Jong was having a standout first season before she went down with an Achilles' injury last March.  Sophomore Ahern took on the tough BB leadoff role as a frosh, and also competed on BB.  Classmate Bell was named to the SEC All-Freshman team on FX but also competed on VT, where she is training a Yurchenko double twist.   Former elite Greaves qualified as an individual on UB after winning the event at Regionals.  She competed on up to four events last season, but she has had to work around injuries she has suffered in the past.  Neal is another sr. elite with high potential across her events.  She competed on up to three events last season, but her best mark came on BB with a 9.975.  Zancan has become a new rock for the Tiger lineups, posting career highs of 9.925+ on VT (pike Ilg), Beam and FX.  With the graduation losses and extended injury recovery timelines, we could also see expanded contributions from the likes of Hannah Hagle, Julianne Huff and Alex Irvine, who all looked strong in the preseason.

Auburn welcomes seven newcomers, including two transfers.  Leading the way are elites Charlotte Booth (3.5*) and Brynn Torry (4.5*), along with fellow frosh Adriana Consoli, Mia Leverton, and Rebekah Smith.  Booth is a British National Team member who suffered an Achilles' injury last February.  Her recovery is reportedly ahead of schedule and she could start contributing on UB/BB immediately.  Expectations are even higher for Torry, who could contend for an AA spot.  Dropping down to L10 in 2025 to prepare for college, she tied for 1st on UB and 3rd on VT at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals, while placing 14th AA.  As a senior elite in 2024, she placed 7th on VT at the Xfinity US Championships.  However, Torry was not seen competing at either the Halloween or December intrasquads.  Former elite Adriana Consoli tied for 3rd on FX and 4th on BB at the 2025 Region 5 L10 Regionals.  She too has been slowed by injury.  A late add for AU, Leverton is a standout on VT (Yurchenko 1 1/2), where she tied for 2nd at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She is training well and could be a key member of the vault lineup.  Two transfers complement the frosh:  Kaylee Bluffstone and Emma Wehry.  Bluffstone was injured in 2025 but was a solid competitor on FX for the Gators.  She also has a strong vault.  She was sighted, however, at the recent AU intrasquad on a pair crutches.  Wehry also sat out last season with an injury but appears to rebounded strongly this season.  She has a strong pike front 1/2 VT and career bests of 9.875+ on VT, UB and BB.

Auburn enters 2026 with a lot of talent but a lot of question marks around the pace and status of various injuries and recoveries.  They are a team that potentially could build momentum throughout the season, as gymnasts return and lineups settle out.  In the end, they could be once again contending for a spot at Nationals.

Head Coaches: Cecile Canqueteau-Landi, Ryan Roberts
Assistants: Marissa King, Oleksii Koltakov
Finish Last Season:  19th
Returning Starters (11):  Nyla Aquino (So), Kara Eaker (Sr), Brooke Gleichowski (So), Aberdeen O'Driscoll (So), JaFree Scott (Sr), Lily Smith (Jr), Holly Snyder (Jr), Harley Tomlin (So), Anya Turner (Jr), Ady Wahl (Jr), Eryn Williams (Sr)
Other/Injured Returners (5):  Csenge Bacskay (Sr/I), Jaydah Battle (Jr/I), Nicole King (Sr), Emma Mason So), Zora Morgan (Jr)
Graduated (2):  Sidney Fitzgerald, Anaya Smith
Other Losses (3):   Sadie Jane Berry (So/TR/Ohio State), Alexis Czarrunchick (So/TR/Maryland),  Naya Howard (Sr/TR/MSU), Kelsey Lee (Jr)
Newcomers (5):   Avery Moll (Fr), Brooke Pierson (Fr), Autumn Reingold (Fr), CaMarah Williams (Fr), Kelise Woolford (Fr)

Quick Assessment:   Georgia rises 7 spots from last season's 19th place finish to land 12th in the Coaches' Preseason Poll.  A series of lineup losses just before Regionals and a subpar BB rotation left them 0.075 behind the advancing team in the second round at Regionals.  A strong returning core and a strong incoming class have led to high expectations in Athens.  They lose just 5 routines from last year's final lineup, including grads Sidney Fitzgerald and Anaya Smith and transfer Sadie Jane Berry.   Fitzgerald graduated early after having contributed on up to three events, with her best being FX.  A former NCAA VT runnerup and All-American, A. Smith brought a solid Yurchenko 1 1/2 to the Gym Dog vault lineup.  Berry transferred to Ohio State, after competing primarily on UB for UGA.  Georgia also will no longer have the services of Naya Howard, a former AAer who is now at MSU who parted ways with the team just prior to Regionals.

Georgia brings back no less than 11 gymnasts from their last starting lineup, led by Nyla Aquino, JaFree Scott, Lilly Smith, Holly Snyder, Harley Tomlin and Addy Wahl.  Smith, a junior, is a five-time NCAA nationals All American (3x 1st team, 2x 2nd team).  She has an AA high of 39.675 and event highs of 9.95+ on UB, BB and FX.  She's complemented by senior Jafree Scott, who has been training all four events after competing on VT, UB and BB last season.  Her execution, amplitude and originality shine on UB and BB.  Junior Wahl was a three-event regular last season, but also competed AA in the past for a career high of 39.525.  She also has career bests of 9.925+ on VT, UB and FX.  She also has earned first team All-American honors at Nationals for her Yurchenko 1 1/2.  Sophomore Aquino was a standout on the power events as well, with a double layout on FX and a layout Tsuk full on VT.  Snyder was a regular on UB but also contributed on FX while Tomlin primarily competed on BB last season.  However, a healthy Tomlin has a high potential to add more events this season after battling injuries last season.  She has a strong Arabian double front on FX and a dynamic set shown at the public preview.  World Championship team gold medalist Kara Eaker is also back, with a strong BB set and the potential to add FX this season.  UGA also looks to get back Csenge Backay and Jaydah Battle, who both sat out last season with injuries.  Bakcsay suffered a knee injury just before Regionals, but looks to be well on her way back after performing strongly at the public preview.  She has career highs of 9.9+ on all four events.  Battle has had the full year to recover after missing all of 2025 with an Achilles' injury.  She contributed primarily on VT (Yurchenko 1 1/2) and BB during her first season.

Georgia is welcoming a strong frosh class, one that could contribute immediately when healthy and adjusted to NCAA competition.  They include Avery Moll (3.5*), Brooke Pierson (4.5*), Autumn Reingold (4.5*), Camarah Williams (4*) and Kelise Woolford (4*).  Sr. elite Pierson is coming off perhaps the strongest elite season of her career.  She placed 15th AA at the 2025 Xfinity US Championships and 4th AA at the 2025 US Classic.  A strong frosh class was further boosted by the addition of Williams, who joins the Gym Dogs a year early.  Despite missing much of the elite season, at the recent public preview, it became clear that she was ready for NCAA competition, after refining her big skills and altering her routine composition for maximum scoring potential.  A L10 from WCC, Autumn Reingold placed 2nd on FX, 6th(t) on BB and 7th AA at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She was also 1st on UB, 4th AA and 7th(t) on FX at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  Another sr. elite, Woolford was 14th AA at the 2025 Winter Cup but missed the rest of the season.  She also qualified in the AA for the 2024 Xfinity US Championships.  The final frosh, Moll, was 22nd AA at the 2025 Winter Cup.  She has a potential to compete for lineups in any event.

Expectations are high at UGA, and with good reason.  A huge amount of incoming talent and a strong core of returning stars could provide a step function improvement for the Gym Dogs.  Injuries, injury recovery and frosh adjustment periods will be variables as always, but signs are promising if everything falls into place as expected.

 13.  Stanford Cardinal

Official Web Site:     Link      Schedule      Roster
Head Coach: Tabitha Yim
Associate Head Coach:  Vince Smurro
First Assistant:  Hallie Mossett
Assistant:  Caleb Rickard
Starting Routines Returning: 18/24
Routines Gone:  2 VT, 2 UB, 1 BB, 1 FX
Finish Last Season:  18th
Returning Starters (9):  Ashley Carter (Sr), Kendra Chang (So), Claire Dean (Sr), Temple Landry (Jr), Taralyn Nguyen (Sr), Anna Roberts (Sr), Sienna Robinson (Jr), Ui Soma (So), Alana Walker (So)
Other/Injured Returners (5):  Victoria Cluck (Jr), Jamie Dugan (So/I), Levi Jung-Ruvivar (RS Fr), Ava Sorrento (Sr), Porsche Trinidad (Sr)
Graduated (2):  Anapaula Gutierrez, Brenna Neault
Other Losses (0):  N/A
Newcomers (5):  Ana Barbosu (Fr), Summer Gronski (Fr), Maeya Sagna (Fr), Natalie Siljander (Fr), Jennifer Williams (Fr/I)

Quick Assessment:   Stanford finished the season in 18th place nationally but finds itself slotted into the preseason 13th position.  The Cardinal lose just 6 routines from two graduated athletes, but gain five newcomers plus a top returner who did not compete last season.  Stanford says goodbye to all-arounder Brenna Neault and sometime all-arounder Anapaula Gutierrez.  Neault earned WCGA regular season All-American honors on the BB last season, and had career highs of 9.9 or higher on all four events plus a 39.65 career high in the AA.  A consistent fixture through her four years, her dependability will leave a sizable gap.  Gutierrez competed primarily on VT (Yurchenko 1 1/2) and UB in her senior season, hitting a career high 9.95 in the leadoff spot at the ACC Championships.  As a frosh, before an injury, she competed AA for the Cardinal.

Stanford welcomes back 9 starters and five other returners to form a strong core squad.  They are led by superstar AAer Anna Roberts plus Claire Dean, Taralyn Nguyen, Sienna Robinson, and Ui Soma.  Senior Roberts was the NCAA vault champion in 2024 as a soph, when she earned first team All-American honors at nationals in the AA and on VT, and 2nd team honors on BB.  This past season, despite a slow start due to a minor injury, she was the ACC FX and AA co-champ.  With a 39.65 career high in the AA and career highs of 9.925+ on all four events, she looks set to lead the squad once again.  Fellow senior Dean has competed in all four events (39.35 AA career high) but focused last season primarily as the leadoff on BB and FX.  Robinson, a junior, is looking strong in preseason and was a regular in the BB and FX lineups, but also competed on UB.  She has highs of 9.9+ on those events.  Another senior, Nguyen, has high levels of potential difficulty on VT and FX but has been slowed at times by injury.  Soma showed high promise in her frosh campaign, tying for the UB title at the ACC championships, showcasing her beautiful toe point and execution.  She competed on up to three events last season, even earning a 10 on UB.  She has even more upside if her prior injuries don't hold her back.  Two more sophs contributed as rookies, Kendra Chang and Alana Walker.  Both gymnasts could step up this season, with Walker looking solid in the preseason exhibition.   The Cardinal also look forward to the debut of redshirt frosh Levi Jung-Ruvivar, who sat out last season.  The 2024 Philippine Olympian placed 7th AA and 3rd on UB at the 2024 Asian Championsips, and earned a spot at the Olympics via the tough World Cup qualification circuit.  She was also a two-time US National Team member.  She looked well on her way during the preseason exhibition, and seems ready to make a large, but delayed impact.

Stanford welcomes five frosh:  Ana Barbosu (5*), Summer Gronski (3*), Maeya Sagna, Natalie Siljander (3*) and Jennifer Williams (4*).  Paris Olympic Bronze medal winner (FX) and Romanian National Team member Barbosu is a top tier recruit who could make an immediate impact, once she adjusts to NCAA competition, the US and college.  This past season, she won the FX gold and the AA and UB bronze at the 2025 European Championships.  At the Stanford preseason preview, she showed she is already adapting well to the NCAA.  Another international elite standout, Jennifer Williams, will likely see a delayed debut due to a late summer knee injury.  The Swedish National team member placed 6th on BB and 8th on FX at the 2025 European Championships.  Another frosh, Gronski, placed 12th AA and tied for 8th on BB at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She was also 23rd AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  Also hailing from Southern California, Siljander won the FX in the All Star division at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She also tied for 8th on BB and FX while tying for 26tth AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  Her strong dance and clean execution on those events could earn her lineup spots on BB and/or FX.

Stanford features a strong returning core and some exciting newcomers that could help restore the Cardinal back into National contention.  Managing and avoiding injuries is always a huge variable, but Stanford's mix of talent includes a "high ceiling" on their scoring potential, if all the pieces fall into place.  Keeping pace with high start values on VT is the new challenge facing most teams, and the Cardinal are no exception.

 14.  Michigan Wolverines

Official Web Site:     Link     Schedule      Roster
Starting Routines Returning: 20/24
Routines Gone: 1 VT, 1 UB, 2 BB, 0 FX
Head Coach: Maile'ana Kenewa-Hermely
Associate Head Coach:  Scott Sherman
Assistants:  Quest Hayden, Cali Hager
Finish Last Season:  17th
Returning Starters (9):  Carly Bauman (Gr), Kayli Boozer (Jr), Peyton Davis (So), Sophia Diaz (So), Ava Jordan (Jr), Sophie Parenti (So), Jahzara Ranger (So), Audrey Sanger (So), Haylen Zabrowski (Jr)
Other/Injured Returners (5):  Lily Clapper (Sr), Amy Fukami (So/I),  Reyna Guggino (Gr/I), Farah Lipetz (Sr/I), Paige Thaxton (Sr/I)
Graduated (3):  Asta Farrell, Jenna Mulligan, Jacey Vore
Other Losses (1):
Lucie Kirchner (So/I/Student Assistant)
Newcomers (5):  Gabrielle Gauger (Fr), Analise Johnson (Fr), Katelyn Kelly (Fr), Myli Lew (Fr), Quincy Walters (Fr)

Quick Assessment:  Michigan's losses from a team that finished 17th in the nation last season are relatively light, with just four lost routines, in comparison to the other Top 16 teams.  With increased depth, the Wolverines are sitting in the #14 spot in the Preseason Coaches' Poll.  They lose three to graduation, including Jenna Mulligan and Jacey Vore.  Mulligan was a gymnast that consistently improved throughout her career, adding difficulty and improving execution.  As a grad student, she competed regularly on VT (Yurchenko 1 1/2) and BB, but also competed FX regularly as a senior.  Vore was slowed by injury early in her collegiate career but was a key gymnast on UB and BB, with career highs 9.925 on each.    Unfortunately, Lucie Kirchner, a talented recruit plagued by injuries, has retired.

Michigan returns the core of their 2025 lineups, including Carly Bauman, Kayli Boozer, Sophia Diaz, Ava Jordan, Sophie Parenti and Jahzara Ranger.  Grad student Bauman has been one of Michigan's top performers on UB, BB and FX during her career.  She has career highs of 9.975 on UB and BB, and 9.95 on FX.  Boozer emerged as standout last season, after not breaking into lineups as a rookie.  She posted scores of 9.9 or higher on VT, BB and FX, and won three event titles on BB.  She's been slowed in the preseason by injury, however, but is working her way back in time for the season.  Sophomore Diaz qualified to the NCAA Championships as an individual on VT, and was named 2nd team All Big Ten.  She posted 9.9 career highs on VT, UB and FX but is poised to do even more this season with a year of experience in the NCAA.  Junior Jordan continues her steady improvement, having competed on both VT and UB last season.  Poised for a breakout season is sophomore Sophie Parenti, who shone in the preseason exhibition with strong improvements across her events.  She competed primarily on UB, BB and FX and was highly consistent competitor -- but now she seems poised with enough improvements to move down the lineup order.  Classmate Jahzara Ranger was named team MVP last season and was named to the second team All Big Ten.  She'll continue to be a high impact performer on VT, BB and FX, her best events.  Another grad student, Reyna Guggino, is looking to rebound from injury last season to get back to her form on VT (Yurchenko 1 1/2), BB and FX.

Michigan welcomes five frosh for the 2026 campaign:  Gabrielle Gauger, Analise Johnson, Katelyn Kelly, Myli Lew (4.5*) and Quincy Walters (3.5*).  Senior elite Lew headlines the class.  Although she has struggled at times during her elite career with injuries, causing her to miss major meets, she strong and well on her way to contributing, based on her performances at the preseason exhibition.  This past season, she won UB at the US Classic and placed 3rd AA and on UB, and 2nd(t) on BB at the American Classic.  She also won UB and placed 2nd AA at the 2024 American Classic.  Walters flipped her commit from Cal following the coaching change.  She was the FX champion in the Sr. D division at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She also tied for 8th AA and placed 9th in the AA.  She also tied for 2nd on FX at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals and has scored 10s on the event as a L10.  Another L10, Johnson, was the UB champion and placed 30th AA in Senior B at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She's a three-time L10 National qualifier.  Another L10 frosh, Gauger, tied for 18th AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals but has not participated in either the November or December intrasquad/showcase events.

Michigan returns a strong core set of athletes and has minimal losses to cover in 2026.  While frosh Lew could post some very high scores, the sophomore class perhaps the highest opportunity to step up in 2026.  Depth remains a concern, due to some injuries, and there will be opportunities for new athletes to breakthrough the lineups

Quick Assessment:  Minnesota holds the #15 spot in the Preseason Coaches' poll, matching their finish in the 2025 final standings.  They lose a total of 7 scores and nine athletes from 2025, including five early departures.   The graduates are headed up by Mya Hooten, Marissa Jencks and Emily Koch.  Hooten, now an assistant coach, wrapped up her career as a five-time NCAA Championships All-American (2x 1st team, 3x 2nd team).  Having posted a 10 seven times on FX, she also recorded career highs of 9.975 on VT (Yurchenko 1 1/2) and 9.95 on the UB.  Jencks competed on up to three events during her career, and posted career highs of 9.9 on UB and FX.  Finally, Koch wrapped up her fifth season after specializing mostly on BB and FX during her career, with career highs of 9.95 on each.

The Gophers return no less than 10 starters, including Teryn Crump, Jordyn Lyden, Sarah Moraw, Lauren Pearl, Brooklyn Rowray, and Ava Stewart.  Stewart leads the way here, as the Canadian National Team member had an outstanding debut season and was named to the All Big Ten second team.  She posted 9.925 career highs on VT, UB and BB.  Her Yurchenko 1 1/2 and form and execution on the other events make her a standout.  Redshirt senior Pearl returns as well, as the team's top performer on FX and a gymnast on up to three events.  She has career highs of 9.95 on BB and FX.  Junior Lyden returns as the squad's top performer on UB and BB.  A Big Ten gymnast to watch for 2026, she has a career high of 9.975 on UB and 9.9 on BB.  Senior Moraw looks ready to make her last season her best.  The 2025 All Big Ten 2nd Team member is working to vault a Yurchenko 1 1/2, to complement the top marks she is capable of on BB.  Sophomore Crump looks to continue the success of her first season, where she competed primarily on VT and UB.  BB ace Rowray also returns, with a 9.975 career high on the event.  Minnesota also welcomes back all-arounder Gianna Gerdes.  Gerdes actually graduated in 2024 but after a year away from the sport is back in form and at Minnesota for the new season.  With a career high of 39.575 in the AA and 9.9+ on each of the four events, Gerdes effectively wipes out the Gopher's most critical graduation losses from 2025.  Also returning is Sophia Nguyen, a junior with a potential Yurchenko 1 1/2 for the vault lineup, and a strong UB set.

The Gophers welcome six newcomers for 2026, including Irish elite Emma Slevin.  Slevin is technically a junior in eligibility after completing her undergrad in Ireland.  A former AA finalist at the World and European Championships, she won gold in the AA at the 2024 Northern European Championships.  This past season, she placed 4th on BB at the Paris World Challenge Cup.  Minnesota also welcome five frosh: Lilly Gullickson, Isabelle Nguyen, Arianna Ostrum (5*), Lacie Saltzmann (3.5*) and Stella Kate Skenteris.  Ostrum leads the way and could make an immediate impact across all four events.  She won the VT (Yurchenko 1 1/2) and AA (39.275) and tied for the BB title at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She also tied for 2nd on FX and 7th on UB at the meet.  She also placed 10th AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  Former sr. elite Saltzman dropped down to L10 in 2025, placing 3rd on UB, 3rd(t) on BB and 8th AA at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She was also 18th AA at the 2024 Core US Classic and 13th AA at the 2024 American Classic.  Another frosh, Isabelle Nguyen tied for 10th on VT and placed 38th AA at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  Like her sister, she brings a potential Yurchenko 1 1/2 and a solid UB set.

Things are looking bright for Minnesota, with a strong set of returners supplemented by the return of a former star and the addition of three elite frosh.  Although all pieces need to come together, this squad has the potential to outperform their preseason rank, especially if their top newcomers can stay healthy and adapt quickly to NCAA competition.

Quick Assessment:   Denver enters the 2026 season ranked #16 in the Preseason Coaches' Poll, down from their 13th place finish in 2025.  They finished 3rd in the Utah Regional final, 0.275 out of 2nd place but face some challenges as they enter 2026.  They've lost a total of 15 routines from 2025 and 8 departed athletes.  These losses include Rosie Casali, Momoko Iwai, Bella Mabanta, Rylie Mundell, and transfer Madison Ulrich.  Ulrich's transfer to LSU was a big blow, as the junior AAer finished the season with a trip the NCAA Nationals and second-team All-American awards in the AA and on UB and BB.  With an AA high of 39.575, she was a critical scorer on every event.  Casali was former AAer (career high 39.5) who was an individual event qualifier to the 2025 NCAA Championships on VT.  She also earned second team NCAA nationals All-American honors on UB in 2023 and had career highs of 9.9+ on every event.  Another former All-Arounder, Mundell, qualified to the NCAA Championships on UB, her best event.  She had career highs of 9.9+ on all four events, and a 39.625 AA career high.  Iwai as co-champ on BB at the 2022 Big 12s but also contributed on up to four events during her career.  She had career highs of 9.9+ on UB, BB and FX.  Bella Mabanta was the 2025 Big 12 VT co-champion and the 2024 Regional Beam co-champion.  She had career highs of 9.925+ on VT, BB and FX.  Along with specialists Mia Hebinck and Abbie Thompson, DU has some large shoes to fill and scores that came from "end of the lineup" performers.

Leading the way for Pioneers in 2025 are Mila Brusch, Cecilia Cooley, Ashley Gallen, Maddie Reidenbach and Kiley Rorich.  Cooley rebounded from injuries early in her career to become a force on three-events last season.  The senior posted highs of 9.9+ on UB, BB and FX last season and is also training VT this fall.  Classmate Brusch was the Big 12 VT co-champion and set or tied career highs last season with 9.9s on VT and FX. She too is looking to expand her contributions to all four events.  Reidenbach is a junior who has primarily competed on VT (Yurchenko 1 1/2) and FX, but will challenge for an AA spot this season.  Another junior, Gallen, was a BB specialist last season with a 9.925 at Regionals.  Finally, senior Rorich was a 2nd team NCAA nationals All-American on UB in 2023.  She has a career high of 9.975 and tied for 2nd at Regionals on the event last season.  The Pioneers will likely also see Amanda Hargraves back in the lineups, as a consistent vaulter and a potential candidate on FX.

Denver will count upon 7 promising newcomers quite heavily in their first season as Pioneers.  They include six frosh:  Megan Aamold (3.5*), Shyla Bhatia (4*), Sevana Kasparian (4*), Kaitlynd Kastl, Terra Rutter (3.5*) and Abby Steeley.  Bhatia leads the way, and competed AA at the Crimson & Gold preview, showing the only Yurchenko 1 1/2 at the meet.  In 2024, she placed 3rd on FX, 5th on VT and 9th AA at the WDP L10 Nationals.  She also tied for 6th on FX and placed 30th AA at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  Hailing from southern California, Kasparian tied for 5th on UB and 7th on VT while placing 28th AA at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She was also 4th on UB and 15th AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  Also from Califonia, Rutter placed 10th on BB and tied for 21st AA at the 2025 WDP L10 Nationals.  She was also 7th on BB and 20th AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  Another (Northern California) Bay Area product, Aamold missed the 2025 season due to an ACL injury.  She tied for 5th on BB and placed 12th AA at the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals.  She also tied for 5th on BB at the 2023 WDP L10 Nationals.  Yet another California native, Steeley trained elite and L10 but is coming back from a series of injuries as well (ankle surgery, then most recently a miniscus tear).  She qualified to the 2024 WDP L10 Nationals and tied for 8th on FX, but was later injured on FX and did not complete the meet.  Finally, Kastl was limited to UB last season, tying for 2nd on UB at the Texas L10 State meet.  She also missed Regionals in 2024, after placing 4th AA at the Texas L10 State meet.  She placed 4th on FX and tied for 23rd AA at the 2023 WDP L10 Nationals.  Denver also welcomes a sophomore transfer, Addie Hewitt, who exhibitioned twice on VT for Maryland.  A four-time WDP L10 National qualifier, she has a 9.8 career high on VT as a L10.

Denver has a number of challenges in replacing some 15 routines that are gone from last season.  Although they have managed with small rosters in the past, the number of injuries have impacted depth in the leg events just as depth is improving at other teams across the NCAA.  As a result, will need to manage injuries carefully and build towards a strong finish.
