Angelina Melnikova won the gold medal by just 0.1 over former Florida star Leanne Wong. Wong hit a Cheng in her final event, vault, to rise into contention for the title after going four for four in the final. There was some controversy in the final, as the former World Champion Melnikova was assessed only 0.1 for an out-of-bounds deduction, when it appeared to some that both feet went out of bounds (0.3). Melnikova too came back, after a fall on BB. The pair finished in the exact same order in 2021. Florida commit Dulcy Caylor placed 13th, after two falls. Mizzouri's Kaia Tanskanen, representing Finland, finished 15th. China's Zhang Qingying won the bronze.
