The college search for athletes is an enduring process with a definite starting and ending point and just like a well run race, the successful student-athlete will remain focused until she breaks the tape. Below are some simple tips to consider when heading down the home stretch in the college recruiting process that will assist families in remaining diligent in "closing out" a very important life decision.

Whether a prospect is looking for an athletic scholarship or support in admissions, it is important to remain committed to the relationship you have cultivated with the coaches. By the time you reach this point, you will have likely narrowed your college choices down to a select few and trust me...So have the coaches.

CMU 195.7, Brown 193.675 at UNH 195.225

CMU posted a season high to defeat a season high from Brown and host UNH's 2nd highest score of the season.  Andrea de la Garza led CMU, winning the AA and the VT.  For UNH, Austyn Fobes won the UB and tied for 1st on FX with teammate Katie Caliendo.  Teammate Chelsea Steinberg won the VBB.

Women's National Rankings for the Week of March 7th

This week's Troester.com GymInfo National ranking show some shuffling, as some teams were able to drop their lowest scores in their average, while some of the teams with less meet to meet variation dropped in the rankings. 

Florida once again leads the Top 25 rankings, in team total and on VT, BB and FX.  Oregon State takes over the top spot on UB after a strong effort Sunday.  Bama took over the #2 spot, with Stanford dropping to third.  OU is fourth and the Beavers are fifth.

San Jose State 194.025 at San Jose State 192.125

San Jose State defeated Sac State, 194.025 to 192.125.   The Spartans were led by Thomasina Wallace, who won the AA. UB and FX.  Teammate Cassandra Harrison won the VT while teammate Julia Greer won BB.

Oregon State upset Stanford to setup a showdown at the Pac-10 meet in two weeks.  Oregon State was led by Makayla Stambaugh, who won the AA with a 39.525, including a tie for 1st on BB with teammate Jen Kesler and Cal's Nicolette Lew.  Teammate Olivia Vivian won UB, while Beaver frosh Brittney Ranzy won VT.  Stanford's Ashley Morgan won the FX.

UGA 196.175, Arizona 194.125 at UCLA 194.75

UGA came from behind to defeat the Bruins at home, who struggled with three falls on BB.  A strong finish on VT and UB sealed the win for UGA.  Cassidy McComb led Georgia, winning the AA with a 39.525, including a tie for 1st on FX with UCLA's Tauny Frattone and Niki Tom.  Teammate Kat Ding won the UB.  UCLA's Elyse Hopfner Hibbs won the BB, while Frattone tied with Olivia Courtney for the VT title.

Centenary 191.825 at SEMO 193.875

SEMO posted a 193.875 in their final home meet, celebrating Senior Night with the win.  Margaret O'Neal captured titles on VT and UB to lead SEMO.  Teammate Sarah Brillhart won BB while senior Brianna Gaddie won FX.  Senior Christina Sundgren won the AA with a career-high 38.95.

WMU 193.925 at Illinois 196.425

Illinois defeated visiting WMU by posting a 196.425 on Sunday afternoon.  Allison Buckely led the Illini, winning the AA with a 39.45 and tying for titles on FX (with teammate Amber See), BB (with teammate Melissa Fernandez) and UB (with WMU's Caroline O'Brien).  See also won the VT.

ASU 192.75 at Nebraska 197.3

Nebraska posted a season-best 197.3 to easily defeat visiting ASU.  This was the Huskers first 197 score since 2007.  Erin Davis posted a perfect 10 on VT to win the event.  She then followed up with a tie for first on FX with teammates Lora Evenstad and Maria Scaffidi.  Scaffidi also won the UB title.  Brittnee Habbib and Janelle Giblin tied on BB to complete the NU sweep.  NU posted the top six scores on all events but vault.

Ohio State posted a 343.7 to win a quad meet at UIC, which held Senior Day.  Phillip Onorato and Jeff Treleaven led Ohio State on the FX, tying for the win.  Teammate Ty Echard won yet another PH title.  Mike Behles captured the Rings, while Kris Done tied with Air Force's Nash Mills for the HB title.  Mills won VT and the AA.  Logan Fiery of Temple won the PB.
