Illinois State announced the addition of three athletes to the 2011-2012 roster: Heather Pena, Megan Yee and Kristen Lieberman. Yee's college decision was covered in a prior news item. Lieberman comes to the Redbirds as a transfer from Boise State. Pena trained at Level 10 at Park Avenue Gymnastics in Florida. At the 2011 Region VIII L10 Regionals, she placed 19th AA.

Jenna Frowein, L10 from HITS in Hawaii, has committed to Stanford according to a site submission. In 2011, she finished 4th AA at her state meet, 4th AA(1st FX) at regionals, and 9th AA (1st BB) at National JOs.
Chelcie Rosborough, L10 at Docksiders in Maryland, has committed to SCSU for the 2011-12 season. In 2010, she finished 4th AA at the L9 Eastern Championships.
Danielle Kram, L10 at Hill's in Maryland, will compete for Maryland this season according the mdusag website. She finished 6th AA at her 2011 state meet. In 2010, she finished 5th AA at the NIT.

Rutgers announced the hiring of Kera Bolen and Umme Salim-Beasley as assistants. Salim-Beasley was a standout at WVU and has coached at Penn and WVU, in addition to the high school level.

Cassie Benning, L10 from Byers in California, has committed to Sacramento State according to a news article. Benning finished on her 2011 season with a 3rd AA finish (1st UB) at her state meet, 2nd AA at regionals and 19th AA at JO Nationals.
Rutgers has hired Kera Bolen, a former Oregon State athlete and volunteer assistant, as an assistant coach.
