Ohio State 194.675 at Pitt 190.825

Frosh Alexis Mattern won VT (9.85) and the FX (9.875) to lead her squad to an opening win over Pitt.  Teammate Tenille Funches won the AA with a 38.15.  For Pitt, Lindsay Offutt won the BB while teammates Miya Dotson and Taylor Laymon tied for the UB title.

M'rcy Matsunami won the vault, bars and BB en route to a big 38.85 AA win to lead the Seawolves to an impressive opening win over Winona State.  Teammate Kallie Randolph won the floor.

Sacramento State coach Kim Hughes will retire at the end of the 2015 season, after 34 years as Head Coach for the Hornets.

Cal Wins NorCal Classic

Cal won the NorCal Classic, hosted by UC Davis, on Sunday, January 4th.  Cal tallied a 195.175 to hold off UC Davis (194.35), and San Jose State (194.05).  San Jose State tied a shorthanded Stanford with 193.45 and fourth.

Cal frosh Toni Ann Williams had a super debut, winning the FX and tying for the bars title with teammate Amber Takara.  UC Davis' Stephanie Stamates won the BB. 

Stanford's Taylor Rice won the AA with a 39.35, while superfrosh Elizabeth Price, who is coming back from an injury, competed vault, her only event, for a 9.95.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire 183.8 at CMU 192.55

CMU defeated visiting Wisconcin Eau-Claire 192.55 to 183.8 as the season got underway on Saturday afternoon.  CMU was led by Halle Moraw, who won the vault, balance beam and tied for the floor title with teammate Becca Druien.   Chippewa Kylie Fagan won the UB.

2017-18 Kratchwell to UNH

Kylie Kratchwell, L10 from Will-Moor in N.J., has accepted a scholarship to New Hampshire.  Kylie starts her 2015 season with a win at the Rutgers Classic and a 1st place vault effort at the COTC.

2015-16 Cashmore to TWU

Jenna Cashmore, L10 at Lakewood Ranch in Florida, has committed to TWU.   She placed 5th AA at her 2014 state meet and qualified to regionals.

We're about to start the 2015 season, and we're once again waiting until the last moment to release our ranking of the Top Recruiting Classes.  This edition, 2014-2015, is one where we are seeing the full impact of early recruiting.  In some cases, the gymnasts who originally committed at age 16 or younger did not end up matriculating at their original college choice.  And, with scholarships opening up due to transfers or retirement, we're seeing a rash of late recruiting, early entries (early graduation), and mid-year starts.  In fact, our choice for number one had an early grad further strengthen an already strong class.

2015-16 Schwab to Utah

Sabrina Schwab, elite from WOGA in Texas, has announced her commitment to Utah.   Sabrina qualified as an elite in 2013.  That season she swept the events and won the AA at the WOGA Classic.  She placed 4th AA at the 2013 HNI.  We previously announced Sabrina's commitment to UCLA.

2017-2018: Johnson to Ball State

Brooke Johnson, a L10 who trains at Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics in Florida, has committed to Ball State.  Johnson placed 9th AA at the 2014 Region VIII L10 Regionals, and advanced to the JO NIT meet where she finished 15th AA. 

Auburn has the strongest schedule when compared to the other Top 12 teams in 2015, according to the annual analysis from CollegeGymFans.com.   Each year, we've calculated the relative strength of the schedule (relative schedule difficulty) for the Top 12 Teams, as determined by the Preseason Coaches' Poll.  Read on to find out how the rest of the teams fared.

2016-17 Pakshong to William and Mary

Evan Pakshong, L10 at Broadway Gymnastics in California, has committed to W&M.  She placed 1st on beam and 4th AA at the SoCal meet last season.  She placed 4th AA at regionals and 31st at JOs.
