OU Wins the 2023 Women's Team Title

OU posted a 198.3875 to hold off Florida's 198.2375 to win the 2023 NCAA Team Title.  That is the Sooner's sixth title in the last 9 Championship finals (2014,2016,2017, 2019, 2022, 2023).  The Sooners posted a 49.675 to hold off Florida's 49.7125 on UB.  In fact, Florida outscored OU on VT, UB and BB but came up short on the FX.  Utah started off strong on FX but fell out of contention on VT, where they posted just a 49.15 after being unable to stick their key vaults.  LSU was out of contention early after falling behind on UB and BB. 

The Sooners were led by Jordan Bower's 39.6875 AA tally.  However, they won with depth, going 24 for 24 and posting no mark higher than a 9.95 and no lower than a 9.825.  Florida's Trinity Thomas posted a 10 on VT to tie the NCAA record for most 10s (28), along with UCLA's Jaime Dantzscher and Kentucky's Jenny Hansen.   Utah's Maile O'Keefe, the AA and BB champ, posted another 10 on BB.   Florida's Victoria Nguyen was an unsung hero of the final, stepping in to compete AA and anchoring BB in the face of an earlier fall and VT (with a new Yurchenko 1 1/2).
