Preslee Harrald's family has notified CollegeGymFans that she is no longer committed to ASU for the 2011-12 season.  According to the submission, ASU has decided to reserve a scholarship for the 2011-12 season for an athlete who has redshirted due to injury.  Under the circumstances, ASU has no scholarship available for Harrald and she is considering other options.  Harrald competes for Kraft Academy in Oklahoma.  In 2010 she finished 3rd AA in her state meet, 2nd AA (1st FX) at regionals, and 47th AA (8th BB) at JOs.  In 2009, she tied for 1st AA at the NIT.

UGA adds Rebekah Bennetts

Rebekah Bennetts, L10 at Georgia All-Star Gymnastics, will walk on at UGA this fall.  She placed 8th AA and 5th(t) on VT and FX at the 2009 JO Nationals meet.  She capped off her 2010 season at regionals, where she competed three events (8th V; 10th FX).

NCSU has announced the hiring of Colleen Johnson as assistant coach.   Johnson coached at Arizona for seven years.

2011-12 Radermacher to EMU

Jamie Radermacher, L10 from Naydenov Gymnastics in Washington, has committed to EMU for the 2011-12 season.  She took 1st on vault and floor at the Seattle Open meet early in the season and won vault and beam on her way to a 6th AA finish at regionals.  She placed 36th at JOs while finishing in the top 20 on vault, beam and fx.

2011-12 Whitnee Johnson to Kent State

Whitnee Johnson, L10 from Show Me Gymnastics in Missouri, has verballed to Kent State. She qualified to JOs from a 8th place finish at her state meet and a 6th place finish (1st V) at regionals.  She finished 48th AA at JOs.

NCAA retains the Super Six format

The coaches have overturned their previous vote to do away with the Super Six format.  The recent turnabout was approved by the NCAA Sports Management Cabinet in June.

2011-12 Courville to LSU

Rheagan Courville, Elite from Gymnasiana in Louisiana, has committed to LSU, according to her interview with Gymnastike following the Elite Qualifier at the National Training Camp.  She finished that qualifier 2nd AA with a score of 54.55 and she won vault, beam and floor.  She also competed at the Qualifier in Florida in June, earning a score of 54.00 and a first place finish on beam.
