Erin McCane, L10 at World Class in New York, will join the Temple team this fall. Erin qualified to L9 Eastern Championships last year, finishing 5th AA and 1st on FX. In her first season competing at level 10, she placed 5th AA at the Atlantis Crown and the PKI (1st BB).
The NCAA, in a live show, released the fields for the six Women's Regionals. Although the Top 18 seeding went much as predicted based on the criteria, there are a few surprises in places 4 to 6 in each Region. The Committee has seemingly scrambled a few teams to account for geographic proximity and to adjust the strength of each Regional. With increasing parity and noticeable scoring discrepancies skewing the RQS rankings, the #4 and #5 teams are increasingly "in play" for the last slot at Nationals.
Megan Gilliam, L10 at Deveau's in Indiana, will join the NIU team this fall. Megan qualified to the NIT last season. This season she has finished finished in the top ten all around in all of her meets.
Here are the top 36 Women's Regional Qualifiers, as published by Troester GymInfo. The Top 18 teams will be seeded into each of the six regions in trios of teams ranked 1-12-13, 2-11-14, 3-10-15, 4-9-16, 5-8-17, 6-7-18. Where the trios contain two or more host teams, the trios will be exchanged with the next nearest trio. In breaking the trios, the higher ranked team is given preference.
Schyler Jones, L10 from Achievers in Texas, has committed to joining her older sister on the TWU team in the fall of 2014. Schyler is a two time L9 Western Championship qualifier and she qualifed to L10 regionals last season. This season she finished 2nd AA at the Friends of Achievers Invite and the Heart of Texas Invitational. She recently competed at her state meet, finishing 14th AA
