2015-16 Finnegan to LSU

Sarah Finnegan, Elite from GAGE in Missouri, has decided on LSU.   She has been sidelined by injury for more than a year, but she represented the US internationally in the 2012 season.  She also competed at the Visa Championships that season, finishing 6th AA, 2nd on beam and 4th on floor.   She also competed at the Olympic Trials.

OU  has signed Nicole Lehrmann and in an unusual move, they have announced a walk on, Megan Thompson.

Sophia Valeri signs with Temple

Sophia Valeri, L10 at Atlantic Coast Gymnastics in N.J., has signed with Temple.   At regionals last season, she placed 1st on bars.   She also competed on bars at the NIT and came away with a first place finish.

2016-17 Marema to Illinois State

Anna Marema, L10 at Phenom in Illinois, has accepted an offer from Illinois State.  She competed just three events at her last state meet, but finished 2nd on bars and 4th on vault.

Savanna Maradiaga signs with BYU

Savanna Maradiaga, L10 from Texas East, has signed with BYU.  She finished 8th AA at her state meet and qualified through regionals to the 2014 NIT, finishing 1st on beam and 3rd AA.

Arizona Welcomes Four

Ariaon welcomes four gymnasts for 2015-2016:  Charle Dembo, Skyler Sheppard, Brittany Robertson and Danielle Spencer.  The commits of all but Robertson were covered in prior news items at the site.  Not included in the release is Kaitlyn Menzione, who we reported on previously.

Robertson is an elite gymnast for New Zealand who placed 18th AA at the Commonwealth Games.  She also represented her country at the 2014 World Championships.   Link:  Video Channel

Nebraska (M) Ink King and Stephenson

NU's men's squad has signed Jordan King and Anton Stephenson for 2015-2016, according to a school release. 

King is a US Junior National Team member who trains at Cypress in Texas.  At the 2014 P&G (US) Championships, he finished 4th AA and 2nd on the PH and PB(t) in the junior men's 15-16 division.

Stephenson trains at Deveau's.  He qualified to the 2014 P&G Championships after finishing 9th AA at the Men's JO Nationals.  His brother is currently on the Husker squad.

NC State Signs Four, Two to Start Early

NC State has signed Caitlyn Fillard, Mackenzie Itcush, Maggie Tamburro and Nicole Wild.  The commits of Fillard and Wild were covered in prior news items.  Itcush and Wild will join the program in January and compete this season.

Itcush is a Canadian Senior High Performance athlete who trains at Gymtastics in Alberta.  She placed 13th AA at the 2014 Canadian Championships.  She placed 18th AA at the 2013 World University Games, as she has already graduated.

Tamburro is a L10 from the Artistic Sports Academy Plus (ASAP).  A two time JO National qualifier, she placed 42nd AA in 2014 and 45th(t) AA in 2013.  She won vault at Regionals in 2013.
