The University of California- Berkeley and Stanford University will join the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) for the 2024-2025 season. They will join the likes of Clemson, NC State, UNC and Pitt in the new gymnastics conference. According to reports, they are taking a greatly reduced financial share of the media rights package, in order to stay in a major conference. This is the latest in a series of moves that has led to the implosion of the Pac 12. Previously, UCLA (and USC) left for the Big Ten; Arizona, ASU and Utah (plus Colorado) left for the Big 12; and Washington (and Oregon left for the Big Ten). Oregon State (and Washington State) are now all that is left of the former Pac-12, with a dwindling set of options, most likely involving the Mountain West (or a possible merger).
