L10 Regionals

L10 Regionals are underway around the country this weekend.  Region 7 will be held next weekend. 

The top seven competitors at regionals qualify to JOs, so long as they achieve a minimum score of 34.00.   This list highlights the seniors who are expected to compete at JOs. Many of them have committed to various NCAA teams.   A link to the full results is provided.   Additional names will be added as results become available.

Event Finals Qualifiers

The top four gymnasts (including ties) should advance to the Event Finals, set to be held on Sunday.  Here's the field based on the results:

Florida's Kytra Hunter and UCLA's Samantha Peszek tied for the 2015 NCAA All-Around Title with a score of 39.6.  Their score from the first session held up in the second, as AU's Caitlin Atkinson and LSU's Rheagan Courville tied for third at 39.55.  LSU's Jessie Jordan was fifth.  Hunter was the NCAA Champion in 2012.

Session II: OU, Bama, Auburn Advance

Oklahoma survived a scare on BB with a counting fall in the last rotation to still win the session, posting a 197.4.  Alabama held off Auburn, 197.1 to 197.075, for 2nd. 

Not advancing from the session are NU (196.675), LSU (196.55) and Oregon State (195.875).  One of the early season leaders, LSU had huge issues on balance beam, counting two falls and numerous wobbles.

Arizona signs Hendrickson

As previously reported, Hailee Hendrickson of Indiana, committed to Arizona earlier this year.  Arizona has now signed her.

Florida and Utah battled to a tie for first, scoring 197.475.   Stanford, which held the lead early on, advances with score of 197.125.   Kytra Hunter and Samantha Peszek tied for the top AA score of 39.6.  Georgia Dabritz picked up the only 10.0 of the session on bars.

2018-19 Alexis Vasquez to Denver

Alexis Vasquez, former  elite from Chow's Gymnastics, has announced her commitment to Denver.   Last season she competed at the Secret Classic and she placed 5th AA at the P&G Championships (1st BB).

UCLA adds three

Kyla Ross, Katelyn Ohashi and Madison Preston have signed with UCLA.   Ross, along with fall signees Kocian and Biles, will defer.  Ohashi and Preston will join the team this fall.  We had previously announced Preston as a 16-17 recruit.

2016-17 Kuprat to BGSU

Kelsi Kuprat, L10 at North Stars Gymnastics, has committed to Bowling Green.  She started this season with a win at the COTC and she has placed in the top 10 AA at her regular season meets.  She placed 13th AA at her state meet.

2016-17 - Madison McBrid, L10 at All American in Utah, has committed to SUU.  She has accomplished top 5 AA finishes throughout this season and she placed 1st AA; 1st V/BB/FX at her state meet.

2017-18 - Shadae Boone, L10 at Twin City Twisters, has committed to Southern Utah.  She has achieved top 10 finishes at her meets this season, including a 4th place finish at her state meet.   She won vault and floor last weekend at her regional meet.

2017-18 Fletcher to Kent State

Abigail Fletcher, L10 at ENA Paramus, has committed to KSU.  She picked up a vault title at the Twilight Knight meet earlier this season and she recently finished 12th AA at her state meet.
