Championship Week: Race to Regionals

It's the final week of the season, with just the Conference Championships remaining.  Just 38 teams remain in the running for one of 36 seeds at the Regional Meets.  An intense race is also under way for one of the Top 18 seeds, which will determine the composition of the Regional fields.

In a rare Wedneday meet, Maryland posted a 195.8 to score a win over UNH (195.275), Temple (194.9), West Chester (193.225) and W&M (191.05).  Alecia Farina led the way for the Terrapins, winning the AA with a 39.275.  Temple's Sahara Gipson won VT, while UNH's Danielle Mulligan won the UB.  Wildcat Casey Lauter won the BB.  Seven gymnasts tied for the FX title.

The Women's Rankings for the Week of February 20th switch to the Regional Qualifying Score (RQS), the formula by which Regional post-season qualification is determined.  It is calculated by taking the team's top three Away meet scores, the three highest other scores, tossing out the highest, and averaging the remaining five.  OU still holds the lead.
