Utah Wins the Pac 12 Title

Utah won the Pac 12 Conference Championship, posted a big 198.15 to easily outdistance the field.  Utah's Georgia Dabritz won the AA with a 39.775, including a tie for the FX title with UCLA's Samantha Peszek.  Peszek also won the BB.  Ute Tory Wilson won the VT with a 10, while teammate Corrie Lothrop tied with Stanford's Elizabeth Price for the UB title.

Boise State Wins MRGC Championships

Boise State used a big final rotation to power past their rival and win the MRGC Championships.  They posted a 196.625, followed by SUU at 196.275, DU at 196.075, USU at 195.175 and BYU at 194.225.

DU's Nina McGee took the BB, FX and AA (39.6).  Boise State's Krystine Jacobsen won the UB with a 9.95.  Teammate Ciera Perkins tied with DU's Rachel Fielitz for the VT title.

Lindenwood Wins MIC Title

Lindenwood edged host TWU to win the MIC Championships.  They were led by AA champ Valeri Ingui, who posted a 39.4.  Teammate Courtney Heise won the VT and UB to help the cause.

TWU's Spencer Jones won the FX and tied for the BB title with Illinois State's Sami King.

OU Wins Big 12s

OU posted a 197.875 to easily win another Big 12 title.  WVU posted a 195.025 to knock off Iowa State at 194.775 for 2nd.

OU's Ali Jackson won the VT, while classmate Brenna Dowell won the FX.  Sooners Chayse Capps and Erica Brewer tied for the BB title, while teammate Rebecca Clark tied with Iowa State's Caitlin Brown for the UB title.

Michigan Wins Big 10s

Michigan posted a big 197.825 to easily defeat 197.35.  Michigan's Nicole Artz won the AA with a 39.65.  She also won the BB and tied for the UB title with NU's Jennie Laeng.  Minnesota's Lindsay Mable won the VT and tied for the FX title with Michigan's Talia Chiarelli and Sachi Sugiyama.

Kent State Wins MAC Championships

Kent State posted a 196.375 to edge CMU's 196.275 and win the MAC title.  WMU's Anna Corbett won the AA title with a 39.125.

W&M Wins ECACs

W&M won the ECAC Championships, posting a 194.375 to outpace Brown's 194.15.   

W&M's Brittany Stove won the AA with a 39.1.

Bama Wins SEC Championships

Bama scored the big upset and knocked off the higher ranked LSU and Florida squads to score the SEC Championships.  Bama a young squad, proved to be a formidable late-season foe for the early season favorites.   LSU's Rheagan Courville and Jessie Jordan tied for the AA title at 39.525.

Bridgeport Wins ECAC Div II

Bridgeport posted a 195.225 to win the ECAC Division II Championships.  SCSU was 2nd at 191.875, and West Chester 3rd at 190.6.  Sasha Tsiikhanovich led Bridgeport, winning the UB, FX and AA (39.325).  Teammate Kim Stewart won the VT.  For WCU, Majesta Valentine won the BB.

Big 10 - Session I recap

Session 1 of the Big Ten meet played out as a batte between Iowa and Maryland.  Both posted season high team scores and Iowa pulled away with the session win, 196.50 to Maryland's 196.075.   MSU finished 3rd  (195.65) and Rutgers finished 4th (193.125).   The highest all around score in this session went to Iowa's Sydney Hoerr (39.350).

Scores

Air Force won it's sixth straight USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Title on Friday.  They posted a 432.85 to easily defeat Navy (412.45), W&M (410.1) and Springfield (402.4).  Navy's Jonathan Tang won the AA with an 83.75.

In the Collegiate Club Competition, ASU won its 17th title in 18 years with a score of 404.8, with Temple 2nd at 401.9 and Washington 3rd at 400.35.  SC United was fourth with a 375.45, but the SC United's Douglass Johnson posted an 82.05 to win the AA title.

OU tops the Men's CGA Coaches' Poll for the week of March 16th, capturing all 18 first place votes.  Stanford is 2nd and Michigan moves into 3rd.

We're in our final weekend of competition, and the Troester.com GymInfo National Rankings are showing a tight battle for the Top 18 and Top 36.  The Top 36 teams qualify to the Regionals and there are a number of teams that are battling to NOT be #37.  The race for the Top 18 is also intense, and it has implications for the Regional lineups.  OU continues to lead the National Rankings, after a weekend that saw numerous season highs, school records, and career bests.

USU 196.325 at Sac State 196.0

USU posted the fourth highest score in school history to defeat Sac State's 196.  USU was led by JoAnna Cuba, who tied with teammate Keri Peel for the UB title and Sac State's Kayle Wonderly for the BB title.  Teammate Bailey McIntire won the FX while Aggie Sarah Landes won the AA with a 39.25.  Sac State's Jula Konner won the VT with a 9.875.
