2013-14 Feely to Bowling Green

Lauren Feely, L10 at Ultimate Gymnastics in Illinois, has committed to BGSU.  Lauren was the 2011 Illinois L10 State Vault Champion and also placed 3rd on beam and 3rd all-around. At L10 Regionals she placed 5th on vault.  In 2009, Lauren was L9 Regional Champion on floor exercise and a L9 Eastern National Qualifier where she placed 3rd on uneven bars. 

Lauren is also a two time Illinois High School Association State Beam Champion (2011 and 2012) and is a two-time member of the IHSA State champion team from Carmel Catholic High School.  At a high school competition in January 2012, Lauren scored a perfect 10.0 on vault, sticking her Yurchenko Full.

2014-15 Sims to Bama

Aja-Monet Sims, L10 at Brandy Johnson's in Florida, has committed to Alabama.   Sims finished 4th AA at JOs last year and launched into a string of strong finishes this season, winning the Tampa Bay Turners Invite (1st AA; 1st V/BB/FX) , the Kurt Thomas Invite (1st AA; 1st V/UB/FX) and the Tim Rand meet (1st AA; 1st V/UB/BB).  She finished 2nd AA and 1st FX at the Presidential Classic.

Florida holds onto the top spot in the Troester.com GymInfo National Rankings for the Week of March 5th.  OU follows closely behind in 2nd.  Florida is the top team on bars and beam, while OU is the top team on FX.  UCLA is third overall and the top team on vault.

Alaska 190.325 at Sac State 193

Nicole Meiller and Kailey Hansen won two events each to lead the Hornets to the win over UAA.  Meiller won bars and tied for the vault title with Alaska's Shakea Sanders.  Hansen won beam and floor.  Sac State frosh Kalliah McCartney won the AA.

Stanford celebrated Senior Day with a big win over Cal and Airzona.  They posted a season best team total, led by senior Nicole Pechanec's win in the AA and on UB.  Teammate Ashley Morgan won floor, while frosh teammate Amanda Spinner won beam.  Another frosh, Ivana Hong, tied with Arizona's Aubree Cristello for the vault title.

NIU 195.1 at Illinois State 194.35

NIU defeated host Illinois State's season high score to capture the win. NIU's Megan Melendez won beam and tied for the bars title to lead NIU.  She tied with teamamte Shonda Clore and Illinois State's Samantha King and Apollonia Barrientos.  NIU's Kim Gotlund and Natalie Sutter tied for the floor title with Illinios State's Kim Genereux.  Genereux posted a 39.1 in the AA to lead Illinois State.  Elise Gray and Tori Sarantakis tied for the vault title for the Redbirds.

Springfield celebrated Senior Day, but the visiting Golden Rams took the dual meet.  Stephanie Schuler won bars, Amber Miller won beam and Melissa Voskian tied for the vault title to lead West Chester.

Air Force won the 2nd of two meetings this weekend with UIC.

Men's: NU Wins with a 341.75

NU defeated the ASU men's club team.  Grant Perdue captured the floor and vault.

Men's: Navy 319.6 at W&M 326.1

Navy's Andrew Faulk won the AA with a 84.7.

Temple's Chris Mooney won the AA with an 83.8.  Teammate Alex Tighe added wins on PB and HB.

Florida 196.95 at Nebraska 196.825

Jessie DeZiel and Emily Wong tied for honors in the AA (39.45) and floor, but it wasn't enough as the visiting Gators prevailed.  Four gymnasts tied for vault honors:  NU's DeZiel and Jamie Schleppenbach, and UF's Ashanee Dickerson and Alaina Johnson.  NU's Janelle Giblin and Lora Evenstad tied for the bars title.  UF's Marissa King took the beam title, helping her team seal the win.

Men's: Stanford 351.4 at OU 357.05

Jake Dalton led his Sooners to a big win over visiting Stanford.  Dalton won the floor, vault, p-bars, high bar and the AA (90.5).  For Stanford, John Martin won PH and James Fosco won rings.

The Gophers were led by Russell Dabtriz, who won the pbars and tied for the ring title with Iowa's Matt McGrath and Anton Gryshayev.  Minnesota topped 60 points in foor and vault, sweeping the top five places in FX, led by DJ Repp.  For Iowa, Broderick Shemansky won the AA and the high bar.

Iowa set a new season high in road win at TWU. Jessa Hansen led Iowa, winning the beam and the AA.  Teammate Tesla Cox won the bars.  For TWU, Kayla Jones won the vault while Spencer Jones won the floor.
