2011-2012: Parker to Alabama

Brooke Parker, a senior international elite who trains at Capital (VA), has committed to Bama, according to her family.  At the recent 2009 VIS A (US) Championships, she placed 13th AA and 9th(t) on the UB.  She also finished 19th AA at the 2008 VISA (US) Championships as a junior international elite.  Her official website is updated with the commit news and has additional videos of her in action.

2010-2011: Johnson to Temple

Jasmine Johnson has committed to Temple for 2010-2011, according to a site submission.  The L10 trains at Exper-Tiess in New York.  At the 2009 Region VI L10 Regionals, she placed 11th AA in the Senior A division.  In 2008, she tied for 10th AA and placed 3rd on FX at the Regional meet.

Kuzara Named Head Coach at Western Michigan

Dave Kuzara has been named Head Coach at Western Michigan.  He was most recently an assistant at Arkansas.  Prior to that role, he was an assistant at WVU and at Michigan.  He was also the Head Coach at UMass for ten years until the program was dropped in 2002.  Link:  Release

2010-2011: Jollie to Michigan State

Laura Jollie has committed to Michigan State for 2010-2011, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.   Jollie is a L10 who trains at the Midwest Gymnastics in Minnesota.  She finished 11th AA at the 2009 Region IV L10 Regionals, Senior C.

2011-2012: Gentile to Arizona State

Natelle Gentile has committed to Arizona State, according to her official web site.  She trains currently at Team OC as a L10.  According to her website, she was injured prior to the L10 Nationals and only competed on three events after placing 2nd AA at the Region I Regional meet.  She missed the 2008 season with an injury, but placed 2nd AA(t), 2nd on FX and 2nd(t) on BB at the 2007 L10 Nationals.

2010-2011: Quinton to Eastern Michigan

Ashley Quinton has committed to EMU for 2010-2011, according to a site submission.  A senior high performance gymnast at Stampede City (Alberta, Canada), she placed 9th AA at the 2009 Canadian Championships.  She also finished 5th on UB and 8th on BB.  She was also 16th AA at the 2008 Canadian Championships.

Natalie Bohonsky plans to graduate in December and start school with Arkansas in January, according to a site submission.  She's a L10 who trains at WOGA.

2010-2011: Cunningham to Kentucky

Holly Cunningham, a L10 at the Colorado Aerials, has committed to Kentucky.  The former jr. international elite placed 54th AA at the 2009 L10 Nationals.  She was also 38th AA at the 2008 L10 Nationals.

NCAA Makes Ruling on Proposed Changes

The NCAA Division I Sports Management Cabinet has released an update that includes several key rulings related to Gymnastics:

a.  The change to a four team Championship Final for women's gymnastics was approved, starting in 2011.

b.  The proposal to count all six scores in the women's Regionals/Nationals was referred back to the Women's Gymnastics Committee.

c.  The Championships for women will be moved to a Friday/Saturday/Sunday starting in 2011.

d.  The men's post season squad size has been boosted to 15, up from 12.

e.  Women's non-seeded Regional assignments will be made by geographic proximity, not by Region or next closest Region, starting in 2010.  This change only impacts spots 19 to 36.  The top 18 will continue to be seeded as before.

f.  Women's judges for Regionals will be selected differently.  Six will be assigned to the various Regions.  The rest will be assigned based on geographic proximity.

2010-2011: McDonald to Iowa State

Megan McDonald, a L10 at Apollo, has committed to Iowa State, according to a site submission.  McDonald finished 11th AA at the 2009 Region VII L10 Regionals, competing in the Senior B division.  She also placed 2nd on UB at the NIT.
